To All:

We sent out changes in the Membership System at the end of last year.  The State Department of Motor Vehicles has banned the use of ‘Blank Membership Vouchers’ effective this season.  What this means is you cannot renew your membership at either of our two Motorsports dealerships here in our part of Niagara County (Hebelers Sales and Service/Bob Weaver Motorsports and Marine), unless you are buying a sled form one of them.

To join/re-join the club, you have two choices:

1.        Go to the Online System at https://membership.nysnowmobiler.com using your Membership ID number (the six digit num

ber on your card or on your voucher form last year).  This method requires a credit or debit card to complete.  If you cannot find your membership ID number, please call me and I will look it up.  Once you have completed this process, you will be able to print off your voucher to take to the DMV.

2.       Come to a club meeting September 8th is the next, then the first Monday of each month after that.  You will be able to join and get your voucher (we are only able to take cash or checks).

We apologize for this inconvenience, this was forced on us.  Hope you have a great fall and don’t forget – The Grass Drags are on September 28th (SUNDAY) – we can use your help on Thursday, Friday and Saturday for the build-up, on Sunday for the Races and on Tuesday for the teardown!

V/R,
Gary

The Shawnee Sno-Chiefs Snowmobile Club, Inc., a member of the New York State Snowmobile Association, serves the Niagara County Region including the towns of Lewiston, Cambria, Niagara, Pekin, Ransomville. Sanborn, and Wheatfield. We work in cooperation with other clubs in the region to interconnect our trails.

Our goals are to have fun enjoying our sport while promoting safety and responsibility. Virtually all of our trails are on private property; we work throughout the year with landowners, addressing their concerns and working to place trails to have a minimal impact on farm crops. No wheeled vehicles (ATV’s) are allowed on our trails at any time, based on landowners’ requests.

We also work very closely with local law enforcement to ensure that all sleds on the trails are doing so legally. If you’re not sure about what you need, please view the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles requirements. Insurance and registration are much cheaper than any ticket!

Our trails are groomed with 2 club owned groomers and drags  when conditions permit. The club has also donated a sled and half the cost of an emergency trailer to the Shawnee Volunteer Fire Company for use in the event of a requirement for a trail rescue. We participate in rescue exercises with the fire company.

We also hold a New York State Snowmobile Certification Course annually. Several members are N. Y. State Certified Instructors. Any child between the ages of 10 and 18 may ride the trails as long as they’ve participated in a snowmobile safety course and are accompanied by an adult.

We meet the first Monday of each month (August through March) at the Shawnee Fire Company: 3747 Lockport Road, Shawnee (Sanborn), NY 14132. The meetings are at 7:30 p.m. Please feel free to join us!
